Academic education is a powerful tool to form people. The concept of the lecturer who should read about a topic, students should manage to write it down than to retell it all during examinations is out of date. The key components of the lecturer should be:
- making love in the student and keeping it towards the course topic;
- teaching how to find the necessary information;
- encouraging using the possibilities available for students’ development.
These are the principles I was using as a lecturer of Documentary Film History at Yerevan State Institute of Theater and Cinematography.
