THE TENDENCIES OF ARMENIAN CONTEMPORARY DOCUMENTARY CINEMA

Previously the Armenian documentary films were subjected to ideological censorship of Soviet government, nowadays the ideological censorship has transformed into market need and profitability. The interest of the author is situated between the preferences of the funder and consumer. Some of documentarians on the personal level try to find new creative expression and solutions for their works following their own desires and ideas. For the development of Armenian documentary cinema there is a need of innovative methods of education, creation of independent film unions that can contradict the structurized traditions of film factories.
